Interval Timer — Support

This page answers the most common questions about Interval Timer.

How do I create an interval?

The first time you open the app, tap Create your first interval and a short guided setup asks how many work/rest cycles you want, their durations, whether to include a get-ready countdown, voice or tone cues, and ten-second checkpoints. It builds the interval for you and opens it in the editor so you can fine-tune every step. After that, tap the + button on the Intervals tab any time to add another. To edit or reorder an existing interval, long-press it.

Why can’t I save more than two intervals?

The free tier includes two saved intervals. Interval Timer Plus (£1.99/year) unlocks unlimited intervals and run history.

Does it work in the background?

Yes. Audio cues continue when the screen locks.

How does the Apple Watch app work?

The Apple Watch app is a companion to the iPhone app. Create and edit your intervals on the iPhone — they sync to the watch automatically when both apps are open and the devices are nearby, so the watch always shows your latest list.

On the watch, tap an interval to choose Start (with sound) or Start Silent (haptics only), then run it directly from your wrist with the same cues and countdowns as the phone. Completed watch runs are sent back to the iPhone and saved to your history (run history requires Interval Timer Plus). The watch app doesn’t create or edit intervals — that’s done on the iPhone.

If a new or changed interval hasn’t appeared on the watch yet, open the iPhone app with the watch nearby to let them sync.

How does heart rate work?

Run an interval on a paired Apple Watch and grant the heart-rate permission. Your heart rate appears live during the run and is saved with that run in your history. Your history is private to you — kept on your device and, if you use iCloud, synced through your own private iCloud account; it is never sent to The Magic Apps.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and manage Interval Timer Plus there.
